It’s been quite a week!! Whoever came up with the idea of exams…..lets just say even if you got me a gazillion pair of shoes I would never forgive you!
Thank heavens, It was a wrap on Saturday and I had the chance to bury my feet in the sandy coastal beach of Mombasa, and do what I do best, meditate on writing while enjoying a chilled drink as the breeze caressed my skin and the golden sun rays gave me a tan.
Now, I know it sounds ridiculous that on my free time am all about writing, but what writing does to me is something I doubt I can explain, so I decided to share a short love letter I wrote to ‘writing’ some time back. It may help comprehend the serenity that engulfs me every minute I curve out beautiful words from my mind.
If they ask when I fell in love with you I wouldn’t know what to tell them, because I’ll do what I do best, write about it. Detail every single moment I spent with you, the times when I was lost for words and walked away for my voice was not loud enough to fight for me, but you gave me comfort by allowing me to pour it all out from heart to the paper. You gently took my tears on days when all I could do is just cry all through, you healed me during my first break up, boy did I misuse you with all the misspelling and grammar disorientation, but some how you did not care, in fact I found peace immediately I put the pen down.
You stood by me when granny died and most of all when I had to let go of a roommate I had learnt to call my mum. With so much rage and anger at the world I sat down and curved beautiful words that healed my soul from great losses of loved ones. I feel like you were with me through out the whole journey when no one else was. Every single time I re read the times I spent with you, I realized that every single piece was a step forward in my healing process and I don’t understand what id do if I never met you….
Some may say falling in love with you made me shy away from learning how to talk about how I feel and what I feel, but I don’t think they understand the beauty of loving you. Tangible memories is what I offer my loved ones through you, they don’t have to struggle each day to remember the details of beautiful moments captured in there lives when they can simply pull out an old letter and capture every single emotion on something…
Oh writing, u fill me with so much peace happiness and profound joy…I feel like am in my own little haven and I don’t think I will ever fall out of love with you. They say happiness is a choice, well I choose you 🙂
Meditate in style 😉 and a Beach Kaftan always does it best for me, easy to wear and match up with anything including beach slippers!!
I am usually the type of girl who feels refreshed after a session at the beach and always wants to grab a bite and have a little chit chat with a few friends so my Kaftan has to be chic enough so as to avoid a change of clothes, which is usually absolutely a waste of time especially if you did not dip in the water.
